About the Author

“I learned to bury myself so deeply because even my own reflection would accuse me—yet the silence of hiding carved its own wound, more merciless than any mockery, and deeper than the cruelest blade.”

—Joshua Macalla- a character from Dark Echoes

Kevin W. McKee lives in East Tennessee with his fiance, James, and their two dogs, Max and Tia. He began writing stories as a little boy, chasing the thrill of escaping into worlds of his own creation. Even then, there was a spark—that quiet excitement of watching an idea take shape and become something meaningful, something that might one day reach someone else.

As he grew older, his stories became more layered, but the foundation never changed. That childhood spark grew into a passion for drawing something powerful from a single thought: a feeling, a fear, a question, a moment that refuses to let go.

For Kevin, storytelling is about connection. Sometimes a story can move a reader, challenge them, or help them see themselves more clearly. Other times, it simply offers an escape from the weight of the real world. He believes both kinds of stories matter.

Meet Max & Tia

Max, our Catahoula Cur, is the most precious part of our family. He's always ready to protect the family, yet he is the most calm, quiet, loving dog I've ever known.

Tia, our American Staffordshire Terrier—our beloved pit bull girl—is the adventurous one, always ready for whatever comes next. She is all over the place. She never tires and she is always anticipating the next journey.

They are both equally loved and our home would not be the same without them.

More than just words

When I was a little boy, I wrote stories to escape my fears. Today, I write to face them, understand them, and help others feel a little less alone inside their own.
